Caunton Engineering have recently installed a Mazak FG-400 Neo automatic and continuous 3D laser cutting machine, thereby streamlining production processing.
This is the second of two new machines the company has installed at the latter end of 2024 and the first laser cutting machine Caunton has purchased. In fact, this is the first FG-400 Neo to be installed in the UK and in a structural steelwork company. The first machine installed was the PeddiBot-1250
The Mazak machine has replaced the company’s Peddinghaus Coper.
Caunton will be looking to run the Mazak machine alongside the new PeddiBot-1250. The Mazak machine’s specification is focused more on items below a profile / width of 300mm and up to 20mm thickness processing a range of sections including universal beams, universal columns, channels, tubes, box, flats and angle sections.
The installation of the Mazak was managed and installed by a team of three Mazak engineers, with strong support from the Caunton maintenance team.
Caunton can look forward to both of these machines working to improve efficiency, the quality of components and accelerate production of the company’s structural steelwork.
