Prosaw, one of the UK’s longest‑established sawing machine specialists, has announced the appointment of Chris Burns as Managing Director, following the retirement of Phil Crick after 41 years with the company, including 13 years as Managing Director.

Chris becomes the fifth Managing Director in Prosaw’s history, which dates back to 1963, marking an important milestone as the business continues to build on its strong foundations of engineering expertise and customer service.

Chris Burns joined Prosaw in 1988 after leaving college with electrical engineering qualifications, beginning his career in the Spare Parts department. Over nearly four decades, he has worked across multiple areas of the business, including spares, blade manufacturing, customer service, service engineering, and service management. In 2013, Chris was appointed Technical Director, working closely alongside Phil Crick during a period of continued growth and development for the company.

His progression through the business reflects a career built on hands‑on experience, strong customer relationships, and a deep technical understanding of sawing machinery and applications.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris Burns said:
“Having grown up within the business, Prosaw means a great deal to me. I’m proud to take on this role and to continue building on the values Phil and the team have established — putting customers first, doing things properly, and delivering reliable, long‑term solutions.”

Phil Crick added:
“It has been a privilege to be part of Prosaw for over four decades. Chris’s knowledge of the business, the industry, and our customers makes him the natural choice to lead Prosaw into its next chapter.”

As Managing Director, Chris will focus on strengthening customer relationships, supporting the company’s experienced team, and continuing Prosaw’s commitment to quality machinery, service, and technical support.
