What is DIN2303?

DIN2303 is a prestigious and rigorous German standard. It outlines the quality requirements for welding processes for military equipment and components. Universal Wolf is one of only fifteen fabrication companies in the UK to have achieved this standard.

How is a DIN2303 audit assessed?

Assessment for DIN2303 covers various elements of the manufacturing process, including colleague qualifications, welding equipment, welding procedures, tests and quality, and material traceability.

The main topics assessed are:

Systems and processes: what systems and processes does the company have in place to ensure high-quality welded products?

Competence, skills and training: does the company employ enough highly-skilled people to make the right decisions every time?

Technical competence: how does the company handle customer requirements, making sure they get it right every time?

Welding Engineering structure: how do we train and qualify our welders? How do we source our material? And, what checks do we have in place to ultimately ensure our customer receive a high-quality welded part.

Universal Wolf achieved the standard on our first audit – a further testament to the skill of our team and the quality of our welded products.

What does this mean for our customers?
