Adaptive Angle Control and Peak Shaving both nominated for a EuroBLECH Award 2026
SafanDarley will be at EuroBLECH 2026. The company will demonstrate how automation, energy management and smart software come together in practice: from a machine that automatically adjusts itself during bending and software that reduces the number of tool changes, to a solution that puts less strain on the electricity grid. Adaptive Angle Control and Peak Shaving, both on display at the stand, have been nominated for a EuroBLECH Award 2026.
The E-Brake 35T, E-Brake 35T Mini Cell and E-Brake 80T Multi Cell will take centre stage on the stand.
Adaptive Angle Control: less dependence on experience
Every sheet behaves differently during the bending process. Variations in material strength, sheet thickness and rolling direction affect the bending result and, until now, have been corrected through test bends, manual adjustments or operator experience.
Adaptive Angle Control (AAC) takes over this correction: using process data from the machine itself, the system identifies material behaviour and automatically adjusts the angle during bending, without additional angle-measuring sensors or external hardware. As a result, a good outcome depends less on experience and more on the machine itself, delivering more First Time Right production, less scrap and higher productivity.
AAC has been nominated for the EuroBLECH Award 2026 in the Advanced Manufacturing Software & AI category.
Peak Shaving: electric bending with lower grid demand
Grid congestion and limited grid capacity are becoming an obstacle for more and more companies looking to expand or electrify their production. Peak Shaving combines energy-efficient E-Brake technology with local energy storage: energy is stored and deployed when the bending process requires additional power, so peak demand does not have to be drawn entirely from the grid.
SafanDarley demonstrates the concept on a 35-ton E-Brake, enabling the machine to operate on a standard 230 V / 16 A connection without compromising performance during the bending process. Peak Shaving has been nominated for the EuroBLECH Award 2026 in the Sustainable & Resource-Efficient Production category.
Automation: from compact to fully modular
Not every product is suited to large-scale, fixed automation. For smaller and more complex parts, the E-Brake 35T Mini Cell offers a compact bending cell that runs fully automatically while retaining a modular design: the layout and level of automation are tailored to the production environment in which the cell will operate.
For companies that prefer to build up their automation in stages rather than all at once, the Multi Cell with E-Brake 80T offers a solution for medium-sized parts. This cell is also modular, allowing capacity to grow in line with current production requirements.
Tool changes take time, especially when a batch requires several changes. The new Dual ATC Gripper carries two tools at once during an automatic change. This shortens changeover time and, depending on the application, can reduce setup time by up to 50%.
AutoPOL BendNest: the best tool change is no tool change
Every tool change that can be avoided frees up production time. SafanDarley and AutoPOL are therefore introducing AutoPOL BendNest, available within AutoPOL Batch and Remote. The software groups different products that can be bent using the same tooling setup, so the machine requires fewer changeovers. This shortens setup time, reduces the risk of setup errors and increases available production time.
Machine Connect App: visibility beyond the machine
With the Machine Connect App, anyone who has the app on their phone receives real-time information about the machine status, for example when a batch is complete or a fault occurs. This means no one needs to remain at the machine continuously to stay informed, and action can be taken more quickly when necessary.
