Are you keen to kickstart a career in the manufacturing industry? Unifabs is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2024 intake of our Metal Fabricator apprenticeship program. Do you have a passion for engineering and a desire to learn and grow? If the answer is yes, then this opportunity is for you!

Why Choose Unifabs Academy?

At Unifabs, we are committed to nurturing and developing promising individuals who aspire to become skilled professionals in the manufacturing sector. Through our apprenticeship program, we offer a structured and nurturing learning environment. Here, participants can acquire hands-on experience while pursuing a recognised qualification.

Birmingham-based provider Train’d Up offers the apprenticeship scheme that we operate. You will start at Metal Fabricator Level 3, dividing your time between remote learning and practical work. We conduct all training and assessments at our manufacturing site in Galley Common, Nuneaton, so you’ll only ever have to travel to one location. Unifabs’ Technical Director and apprenticeship program supervisor, Matt Grealy explains, “By offering training and work from one location, we provide a seamless experience for our apprentices, eliminating the need for excessive travel and maximising learning potential.”

What Sets Unifabs Academy Apart?

Our apprenticeship program covers a wide range of manufacturing skills and techniques. Apprentices receive practical on-the-job training, supplemented by classroom-based learning. This approach builds a strong foundation and helps develop skills.

Areas covered as part of the course are welding, metal bending, punching and laser cutting, along with understanding manufacturing drawings and much more. Throughout your apprenticeship, our mentors will provide guidance, and support. You will benefit from experienced professionals sharing their knowledge, valuable insights, and help, enabling you to learn and succeed.

We believe in investing in our employees and providing opportunities for personal and professional growth. As an apprentice at Unifabs Academy, you’ll have access to ongoing training, development programs, and the chance to work on projects that will challenge and stretch your abilities.

You will also have the opportunity to explore all the services we offer at Unifabs, Matt explains, “While learning and practising the manufacturing processes from the course, our apprentices also develop their skills even further by learning about powder coating and mechanical assembly. Additionally, by covering our full range of services, apprentices gain exposure to various career paths that await them upon qualification.”
