Caunton Engineering are currently fabricating and supplying steelwork for main contractor Midgard Ltd for the 88 Royal Mint Street project which is the final phase of the 650,000 sq. ft. development by Network Rail and IJM Land in London E1. The company is supplying the Podium steelwork, consisting of massive Trusses to support the concrete building above. Fabrication under way in Caunton’s workshops is illustrated.
The first phase, Royal Mint Gardens, was completed in 2019. 315,000 square feet mixed-use development comprised three condominium blocks of up to 15 storeys and 256 residential units, built over two active railway lines. This phase will deliver a 446-bedroom aparthotel and 79 residential units, again over two active railway lines.
