Graham Engineering Ltd (GEL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Higson as Head of Production, a newly created role that reflects the company’s continued focus on operational excellence, quality and meeting growing customer demand.
Andrew joins GEL with more than 20 years of manufacturing and leadership experience and will play a central role in driving production performance across the business. His appointment strengthens GEL’s operational leadership structure and supports the delivery of complex manufacturing programmes across highly regulated sectors.
The Role of Head of Production at GEL
The Head of Production role has been established to provide clear leadership and oversight across all production activities. The position is focused on:
- Driving efficiency and throughput across manufacturing operations
- Enhancing quality and consistency through robust production control
- Supporting capacity planning and resource optimisation
- Strengthening collaboration between production, engineering and quality teams
- Ensuring GEL continues to meet customer demand safely, reliably and on time
This role is critical to supporting GEL’s long term growth strategy and ensuring operational performance keeps pace with increasing complexity and volume.
Experience Built on the Shop Floor
Andrew joins Graham Engineering from VEKA PLC, where he held the role of Head of Operations. During his time there, he led large scale teams and delivered measurable improvements across production performance, scrap reduction and operational efficiency.
His career began in 2001 at Rolls Royce, where he started as a tool maker before progressing through a series of operational and leadership roles. In 2014, Andrew moved into production leadership, building a strong track record of leading people, improving processes and delivering results in demanding manufacturing environments.
This hands-on background gives Andrew a deep understanding of both the people and processes that underpin successful production operations.
Andrew Higson, Head of Production at Graham Engineering Ltd, commented:
“I am delighted to be joining Graham Engineering at such an exciting time for the business. There is a strong foundation already in place and my focus will be on building on that by improving flow, efficiency and quality across production. Working closely with the teams on the shop floor will be key as we continue to support our customers and grow the business in a sustainable way.”
Adam Burrows, Managing Director of Graham Engineering Ltd, added:
“Andrew brings a wealth of manufacturing and leadership experience and his appointment as our first Head of Production is an important step in strengthening our operational capability. His background, particularly his hands on experience and track record of driving performance improvements, will be invaluable as we continue to develop the business and meet increasing customer demand.”
Supporting Sustainable Growth
Andrew’s appointment underlines GEL’s commitment to investing in leadership, people and operational structure. By strengthening production leadership, the business is better positioned to deliver consistent performance, maintain high quality standards and support long term customer partnerships.
