At WHITE CROSS RING CO LTD and YORGRIP, the company are proud to champion talent, innovation, and diversity — and Grace, their female welding apprentice, embodies all three.

A student at Calderdale College, Grace discovered her passion for welding through a personal inspiration: her grandad, a skilled tradesman, whose stories of craftsmanship and dedication sparked her curiosity.

Grace is not just learning a craft; she’s breaking stereotypes. The welding industry, like many STEM fields, has historically been male dominated.

Her commitment and enthusiasm have impressed both her tutors and the team at YORGRIP. Grace joins other members of our highly experienced female team of engineering operatives Leanne and Jeannette.

Her journey reflects a growing movement to encourage women into STEM careers. Role models like Grace show that technical trades are not only accessible but exciting opportunities for young women. YORGRIP is proud to support apprenticeships and initiatives that open doors and create pathways for diverse talent to thrive.

We can’t wait to see Grace continue to grow, learn, and inspire others.
