DAMAGE AND DEMOLITION GUARD FABRICATOR INVEST IN ROBUST NEW BENDING MACHINERY FROM AMOB UK
Cabcare Products Ltd, a Stafford-based company specialising in anti-vandal and demolition guards for the earth moving sector, have recently completed the installation of a 60mm capacity mandrel bender.
The purchase of this machine corresponds with the need to replace two older machines. Previously, the company had been using two single-axis-controlled rotary draw benders.
‘With the old bending process, we had a lot of material that needed to be cut off to length. We are already seeing savings’, said Adrian Grew, Technical Sales Director of CabCare Products Ltd.
With the MDH-60 CN2 model, CNC control now actuates not only bend angle operation, but also the CNC tube rotation. ‘The main improvement is the accuracy of the bent tube…This accuracy is not only providing time savings, but also cost savings on material. The quality of the finished product has also improved. The complexity for the design has improved, and the look of the finished product, too.’ Adrian continued, ‘With the machine being 2 axis controlled, no rework is required before welding, and the designs can be more complex, allowing for an overall better finished product.’
Installed late 2022, Cabcare’s new tube bending machine will now improve their ability to accurately bend 33.7mm box section handrails.
‘This new machine will hugely improve Cabcare’s productivity, and most importantly for them, their repeatability’ says Robert Manners, AMOB UK’s dedicated Service and Start Up Manager.
LEVELS OF AUTOMATION IN AMOB BENDING MACHINERY:
Ø CN1 models control only the bend angle of the tube via NC automation. Operators of this machine are required to rotate and position the tube between bends, if necessary.
Ø CN2 models include NC bend angle operation and NC tube rotation. Operators of these machines are only required to position the tube between bends, if necessary.
Ø CN3 models include NC bend angle operation, NC tube rotation and NC positioning of the tube. Operators of these machines can run all steps from the control panel to produce a complete multi-bend part.
Ø CNC models include CNC bend angle operation, CNC tube rotation and CNC positioning of the tube. Operators of these machines run all steps with the press of a button to produce a complete multi-bend part, with the advantage of many more CNC features.
