KMF Special Products has seen significant growth and now provides a sizeable facility for food processing customers looking for a secure manufacturing partnership. Already partnering with key industry players, KMF Group has over 45 years of experience in providing high-quality fabrications which deliver high-corrosion resistance, durability and outstanding performance.
Shaun Bailey, Production Team Leader at KMF Special Products, has a crucial role to play when it comes to ensuring that processes run smoothly, and client demands are met in the stainless-steel environment.
Shaun said: “Our dedicated facility has extensive capabilities to deal with large-scale product transfers, setting us up for growth. Our highly trained and expert team follow a stringent process to ensure that products are finished consistently to the highest quality and comply with regulations set by the food and drink industry.”
Since joining KMF at the age of 19, Shaun has worked his way up to obtain a Team Leader position where he now leads a team of 26 staff. Shaun’s duties see him continually communicating with all shift members to ensure the fabrication facilities run efficiently, day and night. As well as this he spends time monitoring machinery and checking tools to ensure staff have all parts for their job readily available.
To prevent cross-contamination of materials and ensure all runs smoothly on the production line of food processing and packaging products, Shaun leads a daily meeting. During this, he highlights safety procedures, quality control issues, and updates on cost and deliveries.
“It is important that there is a high level of communication and transparency between myself and the members of each shift. This ensures that all staff have a clear view of what is required for each customer and any issues can be resolved quickly. This is key to ensuring efficiency!” added Shaun.
From design to delivery, KMF Special Products provides a trouble-free solution for clients who require the separate processing of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. As agile players in the production of food processing equipment, KMF offers a dedicated customer area which allows them to tailor manufacturing processes to suit individual demands.
Shaun commented: “We frequently alter the layout of the Special Products area to ensure that it operates efficiently and effectively for different customer needs.”
Investment in state-of-the-art equipment and a highly skilled workforce provides KMF Special Products with a competitive edge when it comes to manufacturing large-scale orders. This ensures they can meet the ever-changing requirements of the food and drink industry whilst maintaining zero cross-contamination. Housing a dedicated bending department, manned press brakes, expert welding facilities and dressing bays, KMF can offer complex fabrications that comply with hygiene regulations.
When talking about the unrivalled technology available at KMF Special Products, Shaun commented: “Our top-of-the-range shot blast machine and dedicated glass bead room permits stainless steel fabrications to be finished to the highest quality in a variety of brushed, grained or glass bead blasted finishes.”
