It’s been a year since Stroud Metal commenced its on-site solar power generation, and the results have been a staggering success. Approximately 600MWh, equivalent to almost half of its total electricity consumption, is now generated on-site. Additionally, the remaining power is sourced from a 100% green tariff. This commitment reinforces Stroud Metal’s position as a front-runner in the manufacturing of metal pressings and plastic injection mouldings, integrating environmental considerations into every facet of its operations.
Matthew Large, Managing Director of Stroud Metal, commented, “We are exceptionally pleased to say that our investment in solar power has yielded dual benefits. Not only has it substantially reduced our electricity expenses, but it also plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our environment. In just one year, our on-site solar power generation has already offset approximately 125 tonnes of CO2 emissions, equivalent to planting over 7,500 trees. Over the projected lifespan of this installation, we anticipate preventing over 3,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, comparable to planting around 187,000 trees.”
