On 10th September 2025, colleagues from all over the country assembled on the fabulous Warwickshire Golf Course, to celebrate a day of networking, fun, and camaraderie – and cement the strong bonds within our Sheet Metal Industry.
The event is the second of its kind to be hosted by SMI. This year’s saw an even bigger turnout, with fantastic prizes, great food, great company – and some very impressive ball skills!

Among the awards up for grabs were a 2-night golf trip to the Forest of Arden, a Taylormade Q135 Max Driver, and £15,000 hole-in-one cash prize! There was also the chance for exceptional individuals to bag a much-coveted custom SMI trophy, in recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the day.
Breakfast bap and Tees on a world-class green
The day got off to a swinging start with a first-class reception of breakfast baps and warming drinks on the renowned Warwickshire golf course.
This championship level course with its exclusive country club set the tone for a truly luxurious event. Surrounded by rolling Warwickshire countryside, it’s one of the leading premier golf complexes in the country.
The Warwickshire boasts two 18-hole championship golf courses. This year’s SMI Golf Day was played over the Earls Course, a stunning mixture of water features and tree lined fairways with lots of tight driving holes to test even the most experienced golfer.
Patience and skills were certainly called for, with a few falling foul of the bunkers and hazards while others battled the elements in a bid to keep their scores low. Spirits, however, were high as ever as teams navigated the course’s 18 excellent holes with plenty of laughs and camaraderie along the way.
And of course, there were the shining stars among us who not only finished the course but did so in great style, stamping their positions as experts in the field of golf – as well as sheet metal!

After finishing up on the course, we sought refuge from the rain in the welcoming surroundings of the clubhouse, suitably exhausted yet satisfied from the day’s challenges.
This was an excellent opportunity to catch up with colleagues from other teams, compare notes on the course, and network with fellow experts on the latest from the industry – as well as anecdotes of unique golfing successes – and failures – from the day!
The evening celebrations saw everyone coming together to congratulate – and commiserate – over a delicious meal with prizes and custom trophies for the winners – and a traditional ‘wooden spoon’ for the most spectacular last place.
Play a bit of golf, have a bit of fun and network…”
Organiser, Jas Rai, took to the mic to announce the winners, hand out prizes, and thank the event sponsors, without whom the fun, laughter, and enjoyment of the day just wouldn’t have been possible.
