The results of the 2nd Energy-Saving Label Evaluation for the machine tool industry, organized by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA), were officially announced in December. SEYI Machinery excelled with its Solid Frame Crank Servo Press (SD1 series) and SNS2 series Solid Frame Crank Press (SNS Series), earning the highest honor: the Gold Label. This recognition not only highlights SEYI’s outstanding achievements in energy-saving technologies but also underscores its steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability.
SEYI’s Press Products Awarded the Energy-Saving Gold Label in the Machine Tool Industry
SD1 Straight-Side Crank Servo Press and SNS2 Straight-Side Crank Press Stand Out
The SD1 Solid Frame Crank Servo Press is designed with energy-saving and energy-recovery concepts, equipped with a dedicated servo motor that allows for electricity recycling. This versatile series is ideal for processing automotive components, consumer electronics, and household appliances, achieving optimal forming in processes like blanking, drawing, and material springback correction. Utilising continuous dies and pendulum curve modes, its productivity can increase nearly twofold while saving over 50% in energy consumption. The SNS2 Solid Frame Crank Press, on the other hand, is tailored for blanking, punching, bending, and forming small-scale single-process thin steel plates and continuous die parts. It supports operations such as single-stroke, continuous die, robotic linkage, and conveyor systems, offering flexible and diverse applications.
SEYI meticulously integrates energy-saving and environmental considerations into the design of both products. By improving structural components, adopting high-performance parts, applying energy-saving modules, and integrating intelligent technologies, the machines’ performance is optimized while carbon emissions are reduced. Under simulated production scenarios operating 12 hours per day for 22 days per month, the SD1 Solid Frame Crank Servo Press can help customers reduce approximately 8,000 kg of CO2e annually, while the SNS2 Solid Frame Crank Press can cut emissions by around 2,300 kg of CO2e. These innovative designs ensure superior performance while maintaining the rigidity and stability of the presses, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. This achievement exemplifies SEYI’s commitment to environmental technology and sustainable development.
As a key member of TMBA’s Environment Committee, SEYI Machinery actively supports global net-zero carbon initiatives and government policies, championing sustainable development within the machine tool industry. The company collaborated with TMBA to establish the “Machine Tool PCR – Press Machines (8462)” standards, providing critical guidance for carbon footprint calculations in Taiwan’s press industry. SEYI has also completed its own greenhouse gas inventory verification and partnered with 10 suppliers from sectors including welding, casting, steel plate materials, and component processing. Together, they participated in the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ “Large-Small Enterprise Low-Carbon Upgrade and Transformation” project, bolstering the industry’s carbon reduction capacity and laying a foundation for low-carbon transformation.
Looking ahead, SEYI will continue working closely with government bodies, academic institutions, and suppliers to advance green manufacturing technologies, explore innovative solutions, and introduce more low-carbon press products. These efforts aim to help the industry achieve carbon neutrality while shaping a greener, more sustainable future for the machine tool sector.
