Whether it’s the fastener for the seat belt or the seat adjustment in the car, gears or other transmission components: in order to function as intended, stamped parts like these must have a cut edge that is as smooth as possible without burrs as well as perfect flatness and precision.
Fineblanking presses of the “HFA plus+” series, which ANDRITZ Schuler has now added to its product range, enable production in exactly this quality. In addition, the energy-efficient systems with press forces between 3,200 and 15,500 kN offer an output of up to 85 strokes per minute.
The technology is not new to ANDRITZ Schuler: Over the past decades, the company has delivered more than 800 hydraulic fineblanking systems of this type worldwide via Feintool AG. The fineblanking presses are now available directly from ANDRITZ Schuler. The cooperation between ANDRITZ Schuler and Feintool will be continued on a new basis, with Feintool providing process and tooling know-how as needed, and ANDRITZ Schuler building the HFA presses and supplying the turnkey fineblanking systems to its customers as a general contractor. At the headquarters in Göppingen, Germany, two new HFA plus systems with 8,800 kN were already built for Feintool in the USA at the beginning of 2025.
Based on its many years of experience in the construction of fineblanking presses, ANDRITZ Schuler has incorporated a number of further developments into the new edition. For example, a servo-controlled drive for the hydraulic pumps ensures that energy efficiency improves by a double-digit percentage, while at the same time increasing the number of strokes. Servo motors are also used for the automation components for fast and safe material transport. Last but not least, the control system with integrated process monitoring provides all the necessary interfaces for further Industry 4.0 functionalities. In addition, further improvements and customizations are available.
And even after the commissioning of an HFA fineblanking press, ANDRITZ Schuler is there for its customers as a service provider: for inspections, spare parts, consulting, updates, modernizations, and many other service solutions. Of course, this also applies to existing systems from the HFA Plus and HFA Speed series. In addition to the new “HFA plus+” series, both models will continue to be available from ANDRITZ Schuler as new machines.
