Dyer is pleased to announce that it has been awarded EN 15085-2 Classification Level CL1 ECWRV (European Committee for Welding Railway Vehicles), the leading international standard for the welding of railway vehicles and components.

Having held EN 15085 certification for several years through TWI, a UK-based approval body, this new achievement means Dyer is now accredited directly by the European approval body. This aligns the company with the standards required across EU markets and marks a major milestone in its long-standing efforts to deliver high-quality, safety-critical fabrication for the global rail industry.

EN 15085 sets out stringent requirements for the manufacture, production and maintenance of rail vehicles. Gaining approval through the European Committee means Dyer is now fully qualified to support EU-based rail OEMs and rolling stock builders, many of whom require direct European accreditation as a prerequisite for supplier approval.

This opens new opportunities in a competitive and fast-moving market, strengthening Dyer’s ability to work with European train manufacturers, Tier 1 engineering partners and cross-border rail programmes and supply chains.

As an engineering partner to global firms, this achievement reinforces Dyer’s reputation for delivering high-integrity solutions and reflects its continued investment in quality and capability.

As demand grows and the rail sector accelerates towards ambitious decarbonisation targets, European EN 15085 accreditation puts the company in a strong position for future growth and reinforces its ability to contribute to the next generation of rail programmes.
