The Beginning
Reaching a milestone of 10 years of dedicated service at a company is always a significant achievement, and Bartek has certainly made a lasting impact in the powder coat department at JC Metalworks. Bartek’s journey began in 2014 when he joined the powder coat department as a sprayer. Despite starting with limited knowledge, his determination and willingness to learn quickly led him to master the intricacies of powder coating. From understanding the spraying process to learning about machine settings, preparation, and coating types, Bartek’s dedication was evident.
The Journey
Over the years, Bartek has sprayed numerous challenging projects. He explained that initially, parts were simpler, but now with years of expertise, JC Metalworks are producing increasingly complex designs. The client expectations have also increased, demanding a higher level of precision and attention to detail. Bartek’s ability to adapt to these challenges has been instrumental in his promotion to Tech support.
Key Skills and Achievements
During his time at JC Metalworks, Bartek has developed a wide range of essential skills. His expertise in powder coating techniques, coupled with his ability to provide technical support to colleagues, has made him a valuable asset to the team. Additionally, his contributions to planning and organising the jobs and assisting the team leader are impressive. He feels that over the years, the processes within his department have improved, and the implementation of MIE for more efficient production management has had a positive impact on the department.
A Memorable Experience
Reflecting on his time at JC Metalworks, Bartek shared a memorable experience highlighting the supportive and collaborative work environment. He mentioned how the team’s willingness to help one another and the encouragement from his supervisor, Gary, have been instrumental in his growth and development. He said, “Gary has been very motivating; he always pushes me to learn new things so that I can progress and improve.”
Future Aspirations
As Bartek looks ahead, he expresses his desire to continue growing as a powder coat tech support at JC Metalworks. He aims to share his knowledge with new team members, contributing to the department’s deliverables.
Advice for Young Powder Coaters
If you’re thinking about a job in powder coating, Bartek has some good advice: make sure to pay close attention to detail, be consistent, and be open to learning. He says it’s important to strive for perfection. It’s crucial to learn how to spray the right amount accurately and consistently. Otherwise, the coating could end up being too thin or too thick, which will make it look uneven.
Beyond Work
When Bartek is not working, he likes to spend time with his family and do things he enjoys, like swimming, cycling, and air rifle shooting. He also enjoys spending time with his daughter.
Team Leader speaks
Gary, our Powder coat Team leader, said that Bartek is very conscientious and has a keen eye for detail, so can do all the small, fiddly jobs that need a good eye and a steady hand. He is very good at fixing any issues and working out the best ways to complete all kinds of finishes. He always wants to learn more, and every time he is given a new responsibility, Bartek steps up to it and does it to the best of his ability.
He said, “It has been good to watch Bartek develop his man-management skills over the years; he is a key member of my team who can run the department in my absence.”
While presenting the memento, our Managing Director, Jason, commended Bartek’s exceptional ability to tackle complex powder coating projects with precision and attention to detail. He emphasised that Bartek’s meticulous work is a reflection of the department’s commitment to delivering flawless finishes, ultimately reflecting the highest quality standards. Jason expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to continue producing outstanding results, thanks to dedicated individuals like Bartek.
